O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!*

Here's what it's been like around here for the past month:

But now -- the MELTDOWN is on!

Tada!

Up to 48F yesterday with a warm and constant wind from the SW. Even the 10” of packed snow and ice couldn’t compete with that. And more mild weather is promised for all this week! Not only are there large patches of grass showing this morning (it stayed above freezing last night), the re-appearance of the new ring garden, but the ice dams in the gutters have melted away. YAY! A day later - all gone! :-) The blood quickens, the heart warms and the senses swim!

  1. Great, Kris! I understand how you want Spring to come soon... you have your seedlings ready in the basement!
Wow, I'm excited too, waiting to see all the plants in your garden grow.
How many more weeks to go??? Did you say the Groundhog saw his shadow about 2 weeks ago?

  2. I bet you are happy to see the ground again. I hope it keeps melting so you can enjoy your garden.

  3. How funny - we have just gone the other way, with a good snowfall last night and are celebrating winter at last. But I can see that you'd be very tired of your snow by this time.

  4. Ha Xuan, Catherine & Lindab - yes yes yes. I do and truly enjoy winter but as the philosophers' cannot stress enough: everything in moderation! And it sure was about time for a little moderating around here! ;-)

  6. You are A-OK now, flowrgirl1. I modified all of the non-main pages with a notice on the bottom. Hopefully this will reduce confusion. Thanks! :-)

  7. I don't remember where you are, but here in Nebraska, we had temps in the 60s this week, and tomorrow, we are supposed to get 4 to 8 inches of snow.

  8. Hi Sue. I'm here in NE Ohio. Yes, got up to 60s on the 11th. Then after the 'big blowstorm' (50mph gusts!), back down into the 30s. Snow in forecast. Keep a stiff upper lip! Spring is 'just around the corner' as they say... ;-)
