Too much, too soon!!

Boreas?

What kind of name is BOREAS for a storm?

Whatever.

This is the 2nd heavy snow we've had this month, and it's still only NOVEMBER.

Sure, it's pretty.

But it's wet and heavy and someone (probably me) is going to get hurt shoveling it!

There's hours and hours of this still to come.

Ah well.  I'll not go hungry that's for sure.  Honeysuckle White turkeys are going for $.68/pound.

I've got 3 of them (2 frozen and 1 ready to roast).

Talk about your frugal food!

If you're East of the Mississippi, I hope you're safe in the storm.

Stay warm and dry.

And, if you're driving through this for the holiday -- heaven help you.

update:  went out between snowfalls this evening and pushed 3-4" of heavy snow off the driveway   -  that should make it easier to deal with whatever shows up overnight

======

Wednesday - morning

Lots of snow from Boreas (total over 7-8").  That's done, but now we're going to have to deal with all the lake effect snow today - colder and high winds too.  Brrrr

  1. We had a sunrise ski this morning and it was so beautiful out.
Hope you got all shoveled out. I know you don't care for the snow---be glad you're not up here having to put up with my irritating Happy Dance.
    Stay warm and Happy Thanksgiving.

    1. Oh, I don't dislike snow -- not at all. I love it too. I just don't like the heavy wet stuff from the south -- my snowblower won't handle it. And I'm getting too old to recover quickly from a day on the driveway with a shovel. While I don't happy dance when we're socked in, I'm not tearing my hair out. Enjoy your white stuff.

  2. If it weren't so beautiful it would make you really mad. You do have to be careful out there while shoveling it.

    1. Yep, you just can beat snow for covering up a lot of spent plants and gardens. It is beautiful. Thankfully I kept up with the heavy snow as it came down so I never dealt with more than 3" at a time. More trips, but less likely to get hurt. Now the driveway is clear and the rest of the place looks like a Christmas card. Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving, Larry.
