Sunroom window view

There is no doubt in my mind. Snapped from the sunroom window this morning.

The Zahara zinnias are here to stay. Goodbye Cut-n-come-agains. At first the Zaharas were small and weenie and didn't seem to attract any pollinators.  But now that the native bee populations have increased, there are bees and butterflies applenty on these blooms.

Yep, these mounding beauties just get better every week. Thanks for the inspiration, Sue !

  1. Criminey! They look fantastic at your place.
Even without much heat this year, mne are doing fantastic. Love when a plant that is advertised as a flowering powerhouse actually is. I'm planning on replacing the petunias along my walkway with them next year. I think the petunias spent more time looking ratty than looking good.

It's pouring buckets right now. I have a ton of things to pick, but looks like that is on hold for the time being.

I thought of you last night---I was reading "For Everything a Season" by Philip Gulley--and he was talking about how his dad loved everything about gardening except the harvest. I remember you said that you'd love to grow it, but not deal with the bounty. I'm right there with you (but I know we both enjoy that summer taste in mid-winter!)
That's what I like about "meeting" others in Blogland........you have lots of company in your thoughts during the day.
    Have a wonderful day
    I'm off to ........................vacuum. Ugh.

    1. Vacuum? Yuk. Instead, after posting, I had to spend the day shopping - which I loathe. So when my buddy from the old job comes down to visit, he drives us all around and shopping is less onerous with chatting, lunch, etc.

Yep. Blogland. The Undiscovered Country - pitfalls, perils, new friends local and abroad. And you're right. I think about cyber-friends too. Like when I see these zins I always think of your and your great beds. Hope your got rain you needed and not any flooding. Looks like a LOT of radar heading our way for the next 24-48 hours. Oh joy.... Glad I mowed yesterday.

Happy weekend. And go easy on that vacuum stuff. Might be hazardous. ;-D

    1. This is the first year, Larry, that I realized the corner of the sunroom had such a view to be had! Yeah, it is kinda great.

  3. That's a beautiful view, Zaharas and everything else. We finally got a lovely l.25 inch rain! I hope that has broken the dry pattern.

    1. Yay for your rain, Glenda. Hope it breaks your heat wave too. We got 1/2" last night and there is more on the way so it's all good here, too. Although I've found late blight already on my tomatoes. :-(

    1. I found the seeds at Home Depot last Spring. Only 13-16 seeds/pkg @ $2.69. Still, I got 4 packs and they were worth every penny!
