Sunshine!!

We're enjoying some really nice sunshine this week so the deck gets very hot once the sun clears the tall trees to the east.

A couple of  weeks ago I lucked into a summer clearance sale at RiteAid where they'd marked their beach umbrellas by 50%.  I took 2 home with me.  Then when I was cleaning out the shed (for the purge) I found where I'd stashed a nice umbrella a few years ago (I'd bought 2 and used one until it literally fell apart (it's now on it's way to the Ecycle depot)).

I'd been using the RiteAid umbrellas on and off since I got them, but yesterday I set up the big one from the shed.  It, like the old one, is used as an awning to shade all the windows into the breezeway else that place gets very uncomfortable.

The BIG picture
This week was a great time to set them all to work cooling the deck and lifting my spirits with their colorful display.  Enjoying my morning tea under the umbrella and taking in the view.  Wonderful place to relax -- and make plans.

  1. Look at all the fun umbrellas! I love it! Funny how we've gone from "it's too dark, cloudy and rainy" to "ugh, it's hot and sunny!" As beautiful as yesterday was, I barely set foot outside due to lack of sleep the night before, allergies, and just needing to veg out indoors. For what it's worth, I mowed the lawn in the 90+ temps Monday afternoon...

    1. LOL I only mow in late afternoon anymore when there is a lot of shade. Yeah, too wet, too hot, too humid, too gloomy.... what else ya got? Sorry about the allergies. *knock wood* I'm free of that stuff. Take care.

  2. Ha---Looks like a party! Love the bright colors. And I'll bet that makes it nice to be out. Well, except for the bugs.

    And the humidity.

    1. PS--Forgot to tell you--my hideous fence is working (5 days and counting...)
My phlox are trying their darndest to put out new leaves. I even had a hollyhock put out a pathetic but much appreciated blossum.
      Yea. Gotta love those deer..............

    2. So glad to hear your fortress fence is working!!!! Isn't it wonderful to see buds filling out again? Looks like hubby will have to spring for something with more appeal if this keeps up. Still .... don't count all those chickens before they hatch. Deer are crafty b!itchs... They find weakness. Otherwise, at least we are enjoying some sunshine and blue skies. Yay.
