Brrrrrrr

Have I ever mentioned that Ohio weather is quite, um, challenging?

It hit 80+ 3 days this week. Today, right now, it is 37 degrees.

And snowing.....

Saturday - April 10

It's 27F this morning with clear skies. The sunrise is beautiful, glinting off the ice on the bird bath. *whine*

  1. Supposed to get into the upper 30s for us tonight too. That's bad. The butterfly bushes look great this year, btw. That's good. The white one is putting out growth like I've never seen. I should be able to take cuttings in a couple more weeks. I hope to locate that magenta one this spring when they bloom and make cuttings of it as well. Only one Honeycomb survived, so I'm waiting for it to put out some growth before slicing a bit of that off.

  2. Tom, your stuff just looks terrific. On cold days I pop over to your blog and warm up with all your flower pics. I keep telling myself eventually it'll look like that around here! But even though we've broken 3 records already this month, it's a long way off until final frost around here. *sigh*

  3. I think you must have gotten our Colorado weather this week. If you're lucky, the winds didn't follow too. We're supposed to be in the 60's & 70's this weekend though so I can FINALLY get outside and get some work done!!

  4. Amy - all week the winds have been fierce. Steady 15-25 with gusts up to 35 and 40. It's all one can do to stand up straight!

Last night it got down to 27. The bird bath is frozen again. Good thing I tossed a blanket over my WS jugs and lettuce bins last night. At least this morning is bright and sunny. Should go up to high 50s today.

  5. That temperature fluctuation is incredibly challenging. Today we had 60 degrees, and it felt too warm after the cold winter. I can't imagine what you must be feeling as your temperature dips and soars.

  6. Linda - I'm feeling a little bi-polar. Or is it Ma Nature? I think she needs some Prozac.
