White Christmas

Gemini was a long 48-hour storm and by the end of it we'd gotten temps near 60F and 3" of rain.  All previous snow melted and washed away into some localized flooding.  We got a little more rain yesterday, too, but by late afternoon the temps tumbled and I watched long fingers of ice glaze over the bird bath.

This morning I expected the frigid temps (15F), but the drop of fresh snow was quite a surprise as they only predicted a dusting.  There is almost 2" and everything is has morphed from mud to magic overnight.  Just beautiful. :-D

My solstice candles have been burning brightly since the eve of the 21st and make quite a cheerful flame.

However, and whichever winter holiday you keep, I hope yours is safe, warm and happy.

  4. You are having a fairly lively time of it! Hoping the ice doesn't cause damage. It's gales here with us - expecting the next one today. However, there's still much to enjoy in this midwinter season.

    1. Linda! It's just lovely to hear from you. Thanks for stopping by. Yes, it's been a very snowy Nov-Dec this year, with more to come. This week it will only be in the single digits to 20s. Brrrrr. Hope you had a Merry Christmas. I've been reading about your gales on other UK blogs. Lots of wind damage and storm erosion at the seaside. Hope your place is faring well. Take care, and Happy New Year! :-D
