A nice rain

Plants in the rain - seedlings under screen
I was up early and sat in the sunroom with a steamy mug of tea, a fragrant candle burning on the table and enjoyed the rain on the roof. Such a calming sound.

A nice rain.  No wind. No storm.  No drama.  Just nice and steady.  It's stopped now with about 3/4" in the rain gauge.

Looks like a good 'down/inside' day for me after going hell-bent all week outside.

Yesterday Mom and I went to fitness, then a Chinese lunch followed by loading up on plants for her at 2 nurseries.  She was pretty pooped by late afternoon and I'm sure she, too, is going to relax and rest up today.

I'll be putting up info on the sidebar blogs over the weekend.  Lots got done, lots needs to be posted so I'll remember what DID get done. LOL

Have a nice weekend.

  1. I planted six more tomatoes in the ground knowing that rain is coming. I like the soaking rain to help get things going. I have some grass seed that looks dry right now.

    1. Still too early to put out warm crops, toms/peps/cukes etc. I wait until after Memorial Day. My grass is growing so fast this year I can hardly keep up with it. But yeah, a soaking rain is a blessing. Take care.

    2. That's the same crabapple in this entry pic, but now the blossoms are gone and the little fruit is all over it. I don't do guilt anymore. LOL

  3. Rain? Oh please, send some up here! We're drier than the first turkey I ever made! Har!
I'd also like more than a 2 hour break from watering these 6,327 flats of seedlings. ARGH!
    Yea yea--I'm whining.
But glad you're having a fine day. Take care

    1. Hey, you had loads of rain earlier. What did you do with it? You kids. Always complaining about sumpin': too much rain, too much wind, not enough sunshine, too hot, too cold... *har* I'm still bringing in my HEAVY TRAYS at night since temps still flirt with that 38-41F drops. Yeah, had a really nice down day yesterday. Didn't even check for comments. My bad... ;-D Hope your Sunday is a Funday! Off to bake 2 loafs of sourdough.

  4. We've had a lot of steady rain here, too, but with storms on the way. Your seedlings look awesome! Have a great week. :o)
