Frack you, Blogger

This morning I finished up my 300th post.  One that I'd been working on for 2 solid mornings.  It was filled with pics and links to updates on my other blogs.

It was delightful, chatty, and included some tricky image distribution.

Hours of work, tedious formatting.  Everything you'd want to publish in a 300th entry on the main blog.

Then I submitted it.  PUBLISH

And it all went away.
Gone.
Though I'd saved it often, it doesn't even exist in DRAFT.  It's just freaking GONE!

I'm no longer chatty and cannot be described as delightful.

Here's a pic from the kitchen window this morning were I gazed out, furious, drinking coffee and trying to calm down.

Screw it, I thought.  I'll just go from 299 to 301.  No one will notice.  No one will even care.  It's not like the blog gets traffic anymore except for 3 steadfast readers (you know who you are and Bless You).  Maybe I'll just quit for the summer.  *sip*

Ah heck.

Here are links to this past weeks adventures.  Click them for the full stories.

More work staining the privacy fence.

Update on the flower beds.

Putting the new Snapper (Mulligan) through its paces.

Then there's the whole pickle problem.

I'm going to make another pot of coffee....  Happy 300th to me. Bah.

  1. Please don't go away. Now that it's summer (or almost) and I'm off from work, I will be checking in to read your posts.

    1. Hello, sallysmom. Thanks so much for visiting. A couple of hours mowing the lawn has calmed me down considerably. I'm not going to do anything rash. But I sure needed to vent! :-D

  2. Oh, Happy 300th post! I sometimes think of making a fuss about things on my blog, number of readers, 200th post, whatever. But I don't really think anyone cares but me. I read a lot of blogs, but then don't comment. I should comment more. I do enjoy your blog.

    1. Hi Alison. I never have really looked to see how many posts I've done. It doesn't really matter. But with the new Blogger interface which I've just been trying, showed me the # of entries. I couldn't believe it how many there have been. So I guess I let the number give me an excuse to do a really proper post - only to have it evaporate. *sigh* I'm happy to hear you enjoy the blog. That's so encouraging. I'll pop over and visit soon. :-D

I also enjoy your blog. You are so resourceful at doing things for yourself and using what you have on hand. It's encouraging to all us 'lurkers'. And since my area is nearby, it's fun to compare weather and progress in the garden.

    Thanks for blogging.

Oh, and the ciabatta is wonderful; I make it once or twice a week -- in loaves.

    1. Hi there, LaLa. Good to hear from you. They say that necessity is the mother of invention, so when you're trying to do stuff on a shoestring budget, you HAVE to get creative. LOL Oh, and don't you just love that ciabatta? Between that and the soda bread, it's just plain good eats. Hope we both get some rain soon. Much too dry compared to last year, no?

  4. If there are only three readers and they've already commented, who am I? (giggle). Hope that lovely view calmed you down a little.

So sorry Goggle ate your post ... bloody technology.

    1. There are many of us out here wondering the same thing - who ARE you? *snicker*

Yes, I've calmed down. It's too fracking HOT these days to keep the blood up. 80s - 90s humid, hot wind. I refuse to plant out my veg into the oven. I'm hiding in the house.

  6. My reply was just zapped! Even the website was gone......

    I am thinking WordPress....

You put so much care into your posts and pictures that it's no wonder you feel so mad! I don't do that so the pain isn't quite as bad.

Love the pic of the lovely treated cedar bench....Alas, I didn't treat.

At least that beautiful view and some good coffee should help. Maybe you should just sit and enjoy the rest of the day.

    1. I've heard tales about WordPress too. I think ALL technology has failings.

I've gone out a couple of mornings and sat on the new bench in back. Definitely a different perspective of the yard and gardens. I think I placed it just right.

There's only one thing better than a good cup of coffee - that is - sharing one now and then.

  7. I try to stop by pretty much every day, and am disappointed if you haven't written anything. You are one of about four (five actually but one has sstarted acting up and shuts down my computer! ) blogs that I have bookmarked. Please be encouraged. :-)
I look forward to many more posts and I love the view from your kitchen window.

    1. Thanks for your kind sentiment, Lois. I hope you check out the sidebar blogs (my other pages). Sometimes I update them without updating the main page.

The kitchen window view IS looking pretty decent. :-D

  8. May I chime in to say that I read your blog often and always enjoy it, and am blown away by your energy and ingenuity. I'm pretty sure that I came across your blog while I was trying to figure out the best thing to do with all the leaves I save in the fall, and I've stayed for entertaining glimpse into your life and gardens. Please keep posting!

    1. Well, Mary, thanks for chiming in! I sure do manage to get into trouble now and then, don't I? LOL At least my adventures and mishaps make for some interesting reading. I appreciate your reading the blog. And I hope you check out my other garden blog pages. They're listed on top of the sidebar. This time of year I'm posting a lot on the Garden Projects Page.... :-D

  9. I recently started to read your blog and it is in my Feed.
So sorry to hear about the evaporation of your 300th blog. I hope you said a few choice words and jumped up and down etc etc. It is so maddening when that happens.
Are the Blog gurus not able to retrieve it? Is there a help section for things like that?
Anyway, I like your blog a lot and hope you continue with it.

    1. Hello, Meta. So glad you could stop by and visit. No, blogger is not way up on the 'helpful' front. I do have to admit, I've only lost 2, maybe 3 posts over the 4 years I've been putting up entries. I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Thanks for reading. I hope to see you here again. Do you have a blog? I'll visit..... :-D
